Our Mamas and Babies!

Stephanie with KaitlynParents of Baby Luke told me: “Oh Stephanie! I can never thank you enough for all that you did. You were amazing. Thank you for being such a blessing. We have so much to be thankful for in you.  Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for EVERYTHING you did to make labor as easy as it could be :).  I’m very thankful Luke is healthy and that you could be a part of it! Mark and I both said we couldn’t have done it without you.”

Parents of Baby Rebekah say: 04I cannot say enough good things about the support and encouragement that I received from Stephanie throughout my pregnancy and birth! After having a disappointing C-Section with my first, I started out my second pregnancy fearful and unsure of how to get the birth that I so deeply desired. I began educating myself about birth, I wanted to do anything and everything that I could this time around to prepare myself for a successful VBAC. I knew that I would need the support of a doula to help me achieve my dream. I hired Stephanie as my doula and Bradley instructor so that I could have the knowledge and support that I would need. She recommended some great books to read in preparation for my daughter’s birth. She was supportive and unbiased towards all of the choices that my husband and I made. During labor she kept me calm and focused with positive affirmations. She was gentle and supportive, reminding me to breathe slowly and deeply. She also offered me a cold drink between pushing contractions which was a welcomed relief! Thank you, Stephanie, for all your support in helping me achieve the vaginal birth that I always knew I could have! Our little family of four was so blessed by the experience of this amazing, peaceful birth! :)”

Parents of little Amelia say:cropped-2011-09-01_11-16-29_876.jpgI would never have a baby without a doula again! My first birth was an intense 16 hour labor with the midwives suggesting medication over and over to give me a “break” and me constantly having to think about an re-prioritize what is important to me and having to yell back at them while stressing out and causing me not to easily progress, it was not peaceful at all. With my second I decided to try Stephanie as my doula, and I am beyond grateful for how the experience went! From researching topics for me, giving me suggestions, opening her house to my family, teaching herself about my birthing methods, encouraging me, taking a lot of this-might-be-it calls and then the unmatched physical, emotional, and professional support she offered the entire time of my labor. She knew exactly what I wanted and expected and made sure the hospital staff understood and respected it. It allowed my husband to play the silent role he wanted and empowered me to have the most ideal birth that I could have. Her presence was calm and knowledgeable but strong enough to ensure I received MY birth. I cannot emphasize enough how much of a better birth it was with Stephanie supporting me- Thank you again for helping to being Amelia into the world!”

Sweet Baby Lily’s Mom begs:
You NEED Stephanie. My labour would have been 10 times more hellish without her…. I would have gladly paid her four times her fee if I could afford it!”

Upside-down back-labor Hudson’s Mom and Dad boast:
“Hello Everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to boast on a friend, Stephanie Emfinger. She was my Doula, or ‘Mama’s Friend’ as she likes to put it, for Hudson’s birth. I can’t say enough good things about her. She was an amazing support system during my labor and delivery, I don’t think I could have made it without her… and my hubby of course. I’m copying the “testimony” that I will be putting on her web page and her link. If you are planning on having a baby, Stephanie is a jewel:

Stephanie, you were such a blessing to David and me during Hudson’s birth and I can’t say “Thank you” enough! To say you are a “Mama’s Friend” doesn’t adequately describe the role you took during one of the most precious moments of our lives. The passion you have for helping mothers experience joy, fulfillment, and a sense of power during childbirth comes through in all your actions. The little things you did, like knowing when I needed chapstick, getting a cool towel for my neck, and always making sure I had a cold drink, made all the difference in the world. My mother in law commented on how sweet and thoughtful it was that you took the time to brush my hair and pull it back after the birth. You were also aggressive without being pushy, you helped out in every way imaginable without making me feel like my personal space was being invaded, and you continuously reminded me how strong I was during moments of self doubt. You are well versed on all the ins and outs of what a Mama needs during the different stages of labor; physically and emotionally. May God bless you and all the Mamas who you will surely be a blessing to in the future! Thank you.”

Silas’s Mom brags:
“My name is Leah, and I wanted to brag about Stephanie and the help she was during my first birth– starting with answering all my many phone calls and concerns, and offering sound advice throughout my pregnancy. She brought me a little snack knowing I’d be starving right before delivery. It was Jello, which was perfect for she knew I would likely vomit later as well. She encouraged me through the whole process cheering me on and notifying me of every new progress, keeping me calm (as possible,) suggesting positions and even holding my feet so I could have more leverage to push. She mopped my forehead and fed me ice chips. When the baby was out, she helped him latch on to me for the first time (I was so clueless) and gave me pointers on how to nurse. Could I have done it without her? Of course! But it would have been a much less pleasant and far more difficult experience.”

Parents of 24+ Hour-Labor Baby Sawyer say:
“Thank you so much for  everything, Stephanie. You were amazing, and we can’t thank you enough. You made our delivery so perfect! Thank you so much for taking a huge part in the birth of the newest member of our family, Sawyer Wesley. You played such a major aspect in helping Stephen and I deliver a healthy, alert baby boy with a drug free, natural birth. You went above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined. The birth was perfect, despite lasting over 26 hours! We owe alot of that experience to you. I wish you tons of success as you build your client base. Let us know if you ever need a reference or referal. Thank you!”

Little Charlotte’s Mom recommends:
“Stephanie was an amazing source of strength for me during my labor and delivery. She offered not only advice on technique to make the labor process easier, but also offered words of comfort and encouragement. I did not believe I was strong enough to have a drug-free labor and delivery, but she gave me the strength that I needed! I would strongly recommend her for anyone considering a doula. I would have never made it without her!

And K.C.’s Mom and Dad share:
“Stephanie, thank you for sharing my birth experience with me and my husband. I wasn’t sure what to expect since every birth is different. The experience of having you there was like having a beacon to focus on and bring my mind back to what is going on with my body. The various positions and massage techniques were invaluable allowing for more than one way to labor. They offered comfort when pains were getting uncomfortable. It was very nice to have someone that was interested in me and how I was doing in labor. You were tuned into what my body was doing and how it was reacting. I spent 7 hours in labor going from 1 to 1.5 cm dilated. I was shocked! The final hour was where the money was: we went from 1.5 cm to having a bouncing baby boy, 8 lbs 1 oz and 21 inches long. Thank you!!!”

Sniff-Sniff!!! Aw, I love you guys!
I have enjoyed my "job" so very much!

If you think highly of your Mama's Friend experience, could you please help me spread the word? It seems like all my clients PCS away from Ft. Rucker and can't recommend me to other new mamas coming to the area. Thanks so much!!! It's a privilege to serve other Mamas and Babies!
